Marketing

The Commerce Marketing Department works closely with all our Vendors to develop programs that add value to your garden centers. Whether this is through promotional pricing, display programs or product knowledge, we realize that your continued success is critical to our success.

The Commerce Corporation Marketing Department is responsible for all product selection. They travel to a variety of industry trade shows throughout the U.S. looking for new products and vendors. Our marketing department spends time every spring traveling to various areas in Commerce?s territory visiting garden centers. We know that you are the first people to see a trend developing and we encourage your feedback as to what products we should be pursuing. We use the information we gather from these garden center visits to create more effective products selections, store programs and merchandising ideas to share with other garden centers. The Commerce Marketing Department also works closely with the vendors in developing new products. We understand that being the first on the marketing with a new product can be critical. Through Commerce Global Sourcing we also have the ability to develop product lines ourselves and bring them directly to market in your stores This enables us to make sure you are getting p products you can be confident about, along with realizing that these items are exclusive for the Independent Garden Center.

Throughout the year Commerce runs several promotions. These include the ongoing web promotions along with dealer flyer programs coordinated to help you maximize sales. Once a year we publish our endcap grabbers. These display deals offer great buying opportunities along with the perfect vehicle for inventory turns. Many of these promotions help to add margin on already successful items.

Commerce Corporation teams up with manufacturers every year to offer our retailers an excellent Co-op Advertising program. This includes assistance with your claims, layout and design help and many other services needed to help in the confusing world of advertising. The guidelines are published in both print and online each year. Log in to view the Co-op advertising guidelines and download all the needed forms.
